The qualification for an Associate Teacher position is two years of college or 48 credits or passing acceptable IU 20 assessment to become highly qualified. 

Individuals who do not have two years of college or 48 college credits may become highly qualified by taking our local assessment. Assessments may be scheduled by calling the Office of the Director of Special Education (610) 515-6449. A preparation booklet is available to help you review the content of the assessment and prepare for the test. Click here to access the booklet.

We encourage you to take the test to become highly qualified. Our applicants have had great success in passing this assessment through review of the booklet and content.

Must demonstrate knowledge of students' development delays. Required to collect behavior and academic data. Required to follow and implement behavior intervention plans (BIP). Required to assist in toilet training and other self help skills. 


Must be able to comply with the job description.


Must have basic computer skills to utilize both CIU-20 computer-based and web-based programs.

Associate Teacher needed for the Autistic Support program. Position beginning with the start of the 2020-2021 School Year.


Starting annual salary:

$18,517.00 – High School Diploma

$20,017.00 – Has achieved 48 college credits

$22,517.00 – Has attained a Bachelor’s Degree




The salary represents a 188-day work year.  New employees who begin after the first day of the school year will have their salary prorated to the numbers of work days remaining in the school year.
