The qualification for this position is a valid and active PA School Psychologist certification


Must have basic computer skills to utilize both CIU-20 computer-based and web-based programs.


ANTICIPATED OPENING - Long-term Substitute School Psychologist needed servicing special education programs located in Northampton and Monroe County school districts. Position beginning approximately mid-November 2021 and continuing for approximately 6 -8 weeks.




  1. Provide comprehensive evaluations in the identification and development of educational services for students.


  2. Conduct reevaluations of students as per standards and regulations.


  3. Participate in Individualized Educational Programs.


  4. Evaluate students with appropriate testing when deemed necessary.


  5. Provided consultation for administrators and school staff members when indicated.


  6. Conduct counseling and behavior management sessions in specific situations on individual and/or group process.


  7. Participate in CIU 20 and staff meetings, conferences, in-service training and/or special sessions.


  8. Recommend and utilize community resources in the facilitation of services for students.


  9. Serve as member of the Crisis Intervention Team.


  10. Perform appropriate clinical assessments as directed by the administrator.


  1. Actively participate as a committee member as designated program committees to develop and maintain current and progressive trends in special education and psychology.


  2. Appraise CIU 20 administration and supervisory personnel regarding the needs and trends for students in specific districts.


  3. Coordinate services with other disciplines.


  4. Attends staff meetings and serves on staff committee as required.


  5. Assumes responsibility for materials and equipment and facilities.


  6. Responds positively to supervision and suggestions for improvement.


  7. Maintain current theories and techniques in discipline content areas, as well as best practices.

Application Procedure

Your application packet will be screened and reviewed by the program administrator. If you are selected for an interview, you will be contact by the administrator regarding an interview date and time.

If you are recommended as a finalist for a position, you will need to have all credentials (3 Clearances, School Personnel Health Record) submitted in order to be recommended to the Colonial Intermediate Unit 20 Board of Directors for hire. This will include completing an Employment Eligibility Verification Form I-9 and showing originals of documents you wish to submit to establish employment identity and work authorization. This will be handled through the Recruitment Office.

School Personnel Health Form – READ THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION.

This form is not required for you to be an active candidate. Please DO NOT have the form completed unless you are directed by a recommending administrator or the Human Resources Office.

If you are recommended as a finalist for a position, you will be required to have a pre-employment medical examination – physical and tuberculosis (TB) test. All results (physical and TB) must be recorded on the School Personnel Health Record. No other forms are acceptable. The physical and TB are at your own expense. If the physical is performed by a Physician’s Assistant or Nurse Practitioner, the Physician must also sign; the TB test may be done by a physician or licensed health care provider. All areas of the physical and TB test must be completed, signed, and properly dated.

Physical and TB results within the last three months of receipt will be accepted if they are recorded on the School Personnel Health Record. Dates of results longer than three months of our receipt will not be accepted.
